My fav Typography poster

This cover is my favorite because of the overlapping, contrast, and spacing. The figure/ground relationship is very visible. There could be an argument that the figure is the dark blue and the ground is the light blue or vice versa The fact that it is speaking with not only the words, but the picture is interesting. It is speaking because the title "Hidden Truth" is hidden. Over all this is an intrinsic piece and I have never seen one like it

Reading about Type

Reading about typography was interesting because it was a term I was unfamiliar with until now. The most important thing I thought was being able to make harmony with the graphics that is being used. This is something that could be difficult depending on how the type is laid and how it flows into the graphics. This is something I feel I will struggle with, but I hope to accomplish. Other points that were address that I feel could be incorporated into my work are making it interesting, overlapping objects, spacing, margins, contrast and more. All of these things can be go into my work.

Final Three Tiles and Design Brief 2 Concerns

I'm unable to upload the tiles, but I will when I figure out how to do so.

I'm really looking forward to design brief 2 simply because the first was interesting. I was off to a rocky start at first and didn't think I would do so well, but after the readings, and lessons in class I got it, and I was able to accomplish the work. With this brief it seems a bit harder. I'm not sure how you can make text look different from how it is. I'm sure there is a way, and I'm ready to learn about it.

Figure and Ground Relationship

After carefully reading all of the required text for this week, the last reading helped me understand the relationship between figure and shape. The figure is what is notice and the ground is not. So the ground is like the background, and the figure is what you design. Even though it may seem like the ground is not important, it is. They both work with each other. If you only focus on the figure then the design wont be complete. These concepts and terms are important because you have to understand them to be able to work in the design field. If you don't know the terms or even worst don't know how to use them, then another career path may be a wise choice. I will use these terms by paying attention to the whole design, since I mostly focus on the figure. I now know to focus on the ground as well. The figure/ground relationship that my design has is it is using most of the ground. The viewer is able to focus on the figure, while the ground is showcased as well

Tile Context

The three tile context that I would choose would be
-Hospital wall
-Transit Station
-Curtain Hall Fountain

For the hospital wall the sick kids will see it as well as visitors for the children, and workers of the hospital, so it will need to be bright and uplifting. With many colors. There will be a bright sun and clear skies, with green grass to show a sign of hope. So the tile colors that I will use will be mostly blue yellow, and green, for the grass

The transit station will be very bright as well, but will have more ads, and different colors to grab the workers, of the station and the people that go to the stations. The tile colors will vary from red to black, yellow, orange. It depends on the ad

The fountain design will be earthy tile colors like blue, green, yellow, and brown. Every time I see it, I get a nice warm feeling, I feel like I should run a play in it. So combining my feelings with the fountain and the colors will be perfect. The students, visitors, faculty, and even people who live in the neighborhood will be able to view this
