Revising Flyers

After class on Tuesday I was excited to go home and revise my flyer's. The feedback that I received was very helpful. I was able to revise my flyer's and I think they look better now. My original though while working on my first draft was to make sure that everything was seen, even the small text so that what I did. The feedback that I received was that all three of my flyer's were covered in words. So I focused more on the hierarchy of what was important and made the adjustments. I also focused on the visual path, and made sure that the order of what needs to be seen is seen. I also test out my flyer's on my mom asked her the first five things she saw, and it worked. I think my flyer's are definitely better than the first. I'm looking forward to class tomorrow so I can receive more feedback, and hopefully continue to improve them before the final version is due

Visual Hierarchy

While reading the required text I was able to pinpoint what I felt the most important. It’s the design. The design is what people look at, and what carries the message across. The reading states that it creates stories, provides data and adds depth to your design. This is something I agree completely and that why I feel it’s the most important point. Some specific guidelines that I will use will be visual hierarchy, and just focusing on how that important that is. The reading breaks down the focal points on how to make the visual hierarchy stand out. It explains font contrast, shape and more. Nothing surprise from the readings. I was happy to learn the new background information about visual hierarchy

Design Brief 3

I'm really excited about design brief 3 because we are going to be working with pictures and not just text. I feel that with pictures its easier to get your message across since most people are visual. The concerns I have about this brief are the same as the prior two. I'm not an artistic persona at all, so this will be a learning process for me. I am glad we get to use pictures though, that way I can be more creative.

Reading about Desinging Forms

The things that I would consider to be the most important about the readings would be the seven principles of design. What I was able to understand from it was the background it gave me on how to make you document legible and readable I never knew that so many specific things go into making documents readable and legible, the contrast, balance, rhythm and more. Its amazing.

The suggestions that I've taken from the readings are creating personality to documents by using certain features, tell a story by using visual hierarchy, the textual aspect of design describes using different sizes based on length of writing and much more

Overall the readings were all very informative and interesting. There was a lot of information on them all so I'm sure I will need to go back to the in the future to remember
